I mostly wrote this one in a CMU parking lot while H played D&D. Influenced by the process of writing "Digging Out", when I hit the second half of the B part I was delighted by what I came up with, but then felt the need to go back and revise earlier bits so they were better.

The Boblo Boats were a fixture of summertime in my childhood. Mostly they only went by once a year, around Labor Day. But they were impressive relics of a past age -- nothing else like them on the river -- and besides, for whatever reason they made better waves than any of the normal freighters that we were used to. If you saw them coming it was imperative to grab an innertube and get in the river as quickly as possible.
